The late William Strauss and Neil Howe, the country's leading generational theorists, described Boomers as those born 1943-60. That excludes both Powell and Cheney--although Cheney got the Boomer atmosphere in a year in grad school at Wisconsin in 1968, I believe. Still, despite those problems, this is a good article.
